My First New York Fashion Show Experience

I must admit that last Thursday was a great experience when I had the opportunity to go to New York for fashion week.  I had always wanted to attend at least one show, so needless to say I was pleasantly surprised when I received an invite to attend Texture On The Runway.  There was no planning on my part, which made me even more grateful that this opportunity presented itself to me.

This fashion show was given by Naturally Curly which empowers and embraces all women with a variety of hair types from coils, curls, waves and beyond.  They presented Texture On The Runway 2017 which was powered by Sally Beauty.  This runway was so innovative because it highlighted: Real Women, Real Fashion, and Real Texture.  And this was seen throughout the entire show.

What I loved the most about the show is that hair was the center stage, showcasing the latest trends, styles and products for all curl patterns, not leaving any of our beautiful hair textures out.  The runway had everything you could possibly imagine from hip hop dancers, singers, ballet to even the cutest little kids that took the stage by storm and of course the wonderful fashion.  And each inspiring look was represented by all the amazing hair care lines that were part of the show which included Cantu, Carol’s Daughter, Creme of Nature, Curlformers, Mielle Organics and Shea Moisture.

Each of these companies had a booth that you could go to and learn more about the hair products and they even had a photo room where you could take all types of fun pictures.  Outside of the great people and drinks, the gift bag filled with regular size products from every line was the icing on the cake.  For this to had been my first fashion show, and I pray not my last I had a fabulous time.

Now for my outfit, I wore one shoulder black bodysuit with gorgeous ruffled detail that went all the way the to the one shoulder.  I paired it with my black cuffed black pants and mohair heels.  The bodysuit was the standout statement which kept the look chic and classy just the way I like it.

What I’m Wearing: Bodysuit (Emmalynlove) | Pants (old)
