How To Get Your Closet Wardrobe Ready For Spring

Now I know that the official calendar day for Spring was March 20th, but if you experienced the crazy weather that I have on the east coast then you know it’s been anything but feeling like spring.  Just recently it’s been getting warmer which has made me realize it’s time to get my closet wardrobe ready for spring.  The last thing you want to do is wait until the middle of the season going into summer trying to get your closet organized which is why I’m sharing some quick and simple tips you can do now and spend your free time looking cute and planning for those vacations I know you can’t wait to take.

Rearrange Your Clothes

If you’re fortunate enough to have extra storage space or a spare closet in your home, now is the time to take everything out from the past seasons to replace it with your spring pieces.  Don’t worry, if space is an issue for you try using the storage containers that can fit under your bed to make room and be out of site.  Anything that you may not want to store you can leave in your closet but make sure to keep those items to one side because your current clothes should be the first thing you see when you open your closet.

Do An Inventory Check

Now that everything is on display, it’s time to see what you’re working with.  You want to really take time to go through your wardrobe and decide what you want to keep and what you should be letting go.  If you didn’t wear it last spring, it’s outdated or doesn’t fit your current fashion style it’s time to say goodbye.  Decide to donate, give to a friend or throw it out if it’s stained or torn beyond repair.  This will give you a clear idea of what you will need to replace based on what you currently have so new pieces can be incorporated.

Shoes and Handbags

All of those pretty sandals are probably sitting in the back of your closet out of sight, so let’s make sure to bring them to the front where they can be seen.  Take some time to look over your shoes for any worn heels or scuffed leather and toss any old ones your holding onto for sentimental value.  Take the ones that need some TLC to a shoe repair shop to get them looking like new again.

Handbags are a big part of your wardrobe so it’s important to go through them and clean them out, I know I’m not the only one who leaves all kinds of unnecessary things in my bag and then forget about it.  Get them ready to be in tip top shape to coordinate with all your spring looks.

I promise once you’ve finished getting your wardrobe organized it will make getting ready everyday so much easier and it saves time from looking for your outfits because they will already be in your closet and you can enjoy wearing those spring looks!
